The Other Way MinistriesEstablished in 1967, "The Other Way" Ministries is a Grand Rapids, Michigan, West side urban outreach committed to Christian community development. We refer to our neighborhood as Westown.
Bethany Christian Services is a global nonprofit family preservation and child welfare organization caring for orphans and vulnerable children on five continents. Bethany is recognized as a prominent leader in social services worldwide. Founded in 1944, our mission calls us to demonstrate the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by protecting and enhancing the lives of children and families around the world.
Bethany is about kids in families. We serve children of all ages as we strive toward a world where every child has a loving family. Our services include family support and preservation, adoption, foster care, pregnancy counseling, training, refugee services, sponsorship, and infertility ministry. We are called to demonstrate the compassion of Jesus Christ to vulnerable children and families around the world.
The Christian Counseling Center aspires to relieve suffering and promote healthy relationships through excellent and accessible services to West Michigan. These services will be provided without regard to creed, color or socio-economic status by competent, well-trained clinicians who strive to faithfully integrate Christian/Biblical truths with principles of psychological health.
The mission of Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank is to feed the hungry in our service area by soliciting marketable food and other grocery products from all sources available to us, and judiciously distributing those goods to the needy through nonprofit charities who distribute such goods to the needy at no charge.

Thornapple Community Church provides a PaperGator bin in the parking lot for the use of our community. The bin is a drop site for recycling paper, catalogs, and phone books. Please note that no cardboard of any kind is accepted. Income is generated by weight and all proceeds are sent to Kids Food Basket to aid in the fight against childhood hunger in Grand Rapids.
The Great Lakes City Classis is a fellowship of communities called by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the very presence of Jesus Christ. The Classis is to call out, develop, encourage and care for mission communities (congregations and other ministries) that are faithful in proclaiming and living out the gospel of Christ.
